They are great crutches for getting you through bad runs where you just can't find the cards that really enables your deck to come together. Furthermore, upgrading cards in a big deck is slower and much harder since you might end battles before even getting to the card you wanna upgrade. In addition, nothing feels worse than drawing an ability card, not playing it, and waiting an eternity to find it again only to not use it since the enemy is gonna die anyway. Be careful though as this means drawing ability cards will be less consistent unless you have ambush, in which case it'll cost more. You probably aim to have cards synergizing with a multitude of others. I prefer smaller decks to bigger decks myself.īig decks on the other hand, give you a variety of options to play. Smaller decks also means you upgrade cards faster. It also opens up the option for forgoing the 'ambush' upgrades for your ability cards since you'll frequently draw them quickly. Smaller decks draws the good cards more frequently and you start off fights with good cards more consistently. If you end up removing cards later, obviously you will wanna remove the one farthest away from an upgrade, meaning any 'upgrade charge' that the card has is a wasted one. Side note: when playing cards, play the card that has more 'upgrade charges' (for the lack of a better term) than the ones that have less. As the runs go longer, I look to remove the weakest/least synergistic card, so I do more damage more quickly. My rule of thumb is always remove the corresponding attack/defense card for the cards I added. Since my deck is smaller, I upgrade faster because I redraw the same cards more frequently. I know I'm gonna add better cards later, so I get rid of the crappy ones early on to avoid wasting 'partial upgrades'. My personal preference is ALWAYS go for at least one 'remove card' quest on day 1 to remove the lame attacks/defenses. Most character tips will be generally about Sal since I'm not that great at Rook. I'm no expert, but I've climbed a couple of prestiges, so I wanted to share my findings to help new players and potentially get help myself. Wanted to make a post where people can give tips for getting better at the game.
